Picks for March 17th, 2010

Last nights record: 3-2
Record for week: 3-2

Today only features three games on the schedule to it is going to be a little difficult to make picks tonight but no excuses. So here are my picks for tonight's games.

Pittsburgh Penguins at New Jersey Devils

This will be the only game where the Devils will feature there throwback jerseys with the green on them. Marty Brodeur will even be featuring the mask that he wore in his first NHL game back from the 91-92 season. As for Pittsburgh, they are a little banged up a bit with both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin being listed as day-to-day, so most likely, only one of the two should start tonights game.

Look for New Jersey to take a rough one.

Chicago Blackhawks at Anaheim Ducks

The Blackhawks are coming off one of the worst weekends any franchise in the NHL has had this season. They lost to Philadelphia on Saturday with 2.1 seconds remaining, and again on Sunday with Washington coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win it 4-3 in OT. Anaheim on the other hand, is 10 points out of a playoff spot with 14 games still on hand, making this game a must win.

But look for Chicago to redeem itself after this weekend.

Upset of the Night!

Calgary Flames at Colorado Avalanche

Talk about a game of polar opposites. The Avalanche have been ripping up the scoring sheet while the Calgary offense has been sputtering, only being able to score at most two goals in the past few games. Colorado has a winning streak of three games while the Flames have lost there last two. On top of it, Colorado has won every one of the four meetings they have has this season 3-2. But Calgary's record away from home is impressive, plus leaving the booing fans of the Saddledome might be a good thing.

Look for Calgary win a squeaker.

Alright fans, those are my picks for tonight's games and come back tomorrow for more predictions from the Chicken Man himself.
